Reply:For hobbyist, everlast will work fine for learning. I am Guessing u want AC for doing Aluminum? If DC is all u want for tig there are many budget priced options. I would also suggest something like the 185micro or something with basic controls. AC balance and Frequency are the only advanced adjustments u need until u have a few thousand hrs of tig time.... pulse and adj slope, flow etc are for production work by real pro's. For everyone else. They are gimmicks and crutchs..... You get what u pay for in any respecms. I tlink there are several examples of similar machines on weldingtipsandtricks with links in everlast forum.Tiger Sales: AHP Distributor www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P, Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma. Reply:Buy once and buy right. If you have the space and power, you can't go wrong with a transformer machine. I should've never sold my Syncro 250. It was all I ever needed, but I had to have a Dynasty. The bells and whistles don't make up for a lack of skill as Southpaw said. If you ever choose to upgrade, good luck selling a used Everlast machine. I see them and other Chicom machine sitting on CL and eBay forever. Go with a used quality American machine. You will get money back when you're ready to move on. Resale value needs to be considered in your quest.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum
Reply:I agree, buy once and buy right. I disagree with resale value as a consideration. I never intend on selling my gear. It happens, but I never intended it. I don't think houses should be bought for resale value either.
