hello and see a sa200 with vf4

Hello  can you tell me what this is worth  as is - running- restored?thee last pic of grey one I saw on ebay as a pipeliner  mine is the spitting image except for he added a battery and starter   i read technically sa200 are all pipeliners..........anywaymine is misssing crank and air intyake hose......also its dirty like a tractor the color its painted after....can I use some gunk and a hose? pressure wash((lightly)it appears it sat after gas dried in it..........it turns over with spark and I got a few rumbles out of it yesterday..........welder serial is  A184067      code 754came up as shield arc junior    200 amp dc wisconsin vf-4....printed a couple manuals already im 119 and 126 plus parts for ve4 vf4 engines....any and all info would be appreciated.....trying to decide if Im gonna sellit or not..and in what condition to sell itafter lurking and exploring many other sites the past month like smokestak   stickweld  etcthis one seems the bestthanks in [email protected] Attached Images
Reply:184067 comes back as a 1947. I've never seen one like this one? A smaller version of the SA200, I'd love to have it! Reply:I got june of 1948 through the code searchIm in northern california............Contra costa county   Iv'e been told by stickweld guys I would get about 800 if I put it on Ebay  As is.I may put it on Craigs list for 500   Maybe I could meet you near Santa barbara or something   Maybe  near mamoth mt./lakes.????Scott925 299-291one  ...............anytime except between 2-6am     cell number is at end of msg..  .....     ......

Reply:I'd give you $500.00 as is AND drive to Calif. for it, but my wife would kill me when I got home with it!  I'm using Lincoln Service Notice #9301 from Lincoln's website to date these machines. I'm guessing they're not infallible. The code number is used to determine which options your machine has, where the serial number is used to determine the date of manufacture...or so I have been told by the experts!I have actually seen this configuration before, can't seem to recall where?? I'm seeing a cement mixer with one of these motors in my mind?? Must be getting senile! I'm sure someone will give you $500.00 for it, getting it started with the crank used to be easy on the OTHER SA200s. Reply:Got the motor to run for about ten seconds    only because thats all the gas I allowed itsounded good.............I don't want to run it any longer till I    can change oil  get the fuel system all cleaned and or replaced................I made a crank................Now i've started sanding the rough CAT yellow paint job..........When I can afford too .......Ill get some new decals andPaint it the color it should be Looks like it was  kinda of a primer red colorHow about if I drive it to you for  700      extra 200 for gasthat grey one I have pictured from ebay  sold for 1700+   with 6 or so people bidding on itWhere should I post this one for sale ..............start with the FS forum here.........then?I'd gladly trade my  grinding skills .............To be a better welder.
Reply:Reminds me of old Guitar amps, collectors love the old ones... there are  fewer early ones  and they are unique, lower total #s built etc.  and they can bring some $ WHEN they are in good shapeBest value is unrestored and nice, next is a good working used one or  a well restored one, finally the beaters that need work.   Could be nice with some elbow grease.  Scootin I would not do a quickie clean up if you plan to sell. Restorers usually like it as unmolested as possible to start.Gizzard, U can stay at my place in Yuma on the way home and  zzz and I can enjoy a looksee at this thing.  And, your wife won't literallly "kill" you... just beat U up  a little maybeLincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools

Reply:I'll see your SA200 and raise you 1 Schramm compressor!!  These two look awfull similar yet are very different. compressor makes 35 CFM.  The 2 cyl. SA200's must be pretty common I seem to see a lot of them on the web. any good running welder must be worth $400 and up I would say. Then there is the cool factor if you can't pass things up like me. NOT GOOD I know. Reply:Scott, They were originally the Lincoln red or what I've always found under other paint on them too.  The last time I redone one 2 or 3 years ago couldn't get the original style vertical decals from Lincoln anymore just use other decals from Decal Shoppe.  Problem selling one of those now is the economy and jobs as I'm sure know you can spend more fixing one up than you can get back out of it.  Also not having a idler, auxillary 110V power, electric start and being gasoline doesn't help them either right now.  Have few farmers around here that have one of those welders to use but everyone eventually wants to trade up to a Ranger or Bobcat if they can for the auxillary power and the other guys want a diesel that will run on a tank of fuel for days not a tank or two per day.
