Hello;Have a Code 8928 Weldanpower with a armature that is stuck on the Briggs tapered shaft. Any tricks on how best ot get her off? thanks
Reply:Does it have the long bolt that goes all the way thru the armature shaft and threads into the crankshaft? MikeOl' Stonebreaker "Experience is the name everyone gives to their mistakes"Hobart G-213 portableMiller 175 migMiller thunderbolt ac/dc stick Victor O/A setupMakita chop saw
Reply:I apologize for the fuzzy photo, but after removing the thru bolt, I use a 7/16" diameter x 36" long rod with the end ground to a 45 degree taper to fit into the end of the crank but still protect it from damage, insert it thru the armature, seat it against the crank and a couple good sharp blows with the hammer to seperate the two.Make sure the brushes and the engine-to-stator housing bolts are removed first.Last edited by duaneb55; 07-20-2010 at 10:02 PM.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
