So I purchased a Lincoln Handy Mig welder. *It is gas, but for for what Iwas doing this weekend I did not use gas.The welder worked nicely for a few minutes of welding. *I didn't weldconstant took a few second of breaks here and there.I was welding 16guage exhaust piping. *The fan is on constant and after afew minutes the overheating lamp came on and the welder obviously stopped.I let it cool off *for a while and put a small fan near the opening on sidepanel to help keep it cool since I was in a garage and it was humid. So here is the problem:After it shut off due to heat etc....now it does not penetrate the metal. It just balls up and sits on top of the metal. *And it pulsates. *No solidwelding. *Bzzz Bzzzzz Bzzz...if you take the welder of the metal the wirecomes out constant.I thought maybe the extension cord was bad...hooked right up to the outletand still the same. *I unhook it for about an hour or so to see if coolingoff would help more. Still did the same thing. **Wire was not hung up.Seem the light(arc) was very bright too, not like usual when welding.Only other thing I noticed was right before it tripped the fuse in thepanel is it started to weld a small area, seemed to get very hot but thenthe wire got stuck on the surface and then tripped the breaker.I tried some thicker metal (weldable steeel) and it did the same.I also put the ground cable at several different spots thinking maybe thatwas my issue.Nothing changed.Any thought/suggestions?Thanks for the help/suggestion._____________________________________
