Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum here. I live in Central Utah and practice law for a living, but I also live on a cattle ranch and 5 or 6 years ago I bought a Hobart traveler 210. I bought it because there are endless things around here that need to be welded. Anyway, the Hobart has been a great machine. I've done everything from fixing swather parts to making a a pot rack and a boot rack out of horseshoes to building a 2 7/8" 1000 foot drill pipe corral for the buffalo with that Hobart. Anyway, I also used flux core .035 wire in the thing. Well today I picked up a ESAB Migmaster 250 from a guy I know that had too many welders in his shop. Anyway, my question is can I still run .035 flux core wire through that thing. I know argon makes a far superior weld, but most of the time I'm out in the open welding gates, or hay feeders and stuff like that. I have an argon bottle and can use it in the shop. But I was wondering if you can run flux core wire through the Mixmaster 250. Anyway, any comments would be appreciated.Justin

Reply:Yea I had to do that on the Hobart. So its the same with the MigMaster? Switch the wires around from the positive negative terminals right? Reply:HI Minnesota Dave. I read in another forum that if it's straight flux core you do not need to reverse polarity. It says only reverse polarity if it's gas less wire.
