Help me pick out a new welder for summer shutdown schedule.

Soo....my current pick is a brand new bobcat 250 efi with free leads and cover for 4500. My budget is 5kish. I can run my hypertherm pm30 air and my tig welder off it. Bettwr options for same ball park price?Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Reply:Imo Bobcats are good for general fab and maintenance/millwright type work. If your looking to do lots of welding there's much better choices.  I'm generally a Miller guy but if I were looking for a gas powered genny I'd look st the Lincoln 305g.

Reply:I’m not up on pricing. You won’t be disappointed in the welder. My buddy’s 305G welds every bit as nice as my 1966 SA-200 Red Face. But the 305G has CV, and so much more control over the puddle. Reply:Either a trailblazer or a 305g should work fine for what you will be doing. Plenty of generator power and both can lay a good bead. Both around your price range.

Reply:My pipe foreman just called and told me he wouldnt let me weld pipe with the 305 only my vantage lol. I told him to kma. The f350 and vantage are staying parked until the oil and has picks up again.Sent from my SM-G920P using Tapatalk
Reply:Man that's the exact machine I'm going for I've heard only good things about the 305, if I could swing it I'd get the vantage for sure.
