Anvil mailbox

PHP Code:[PHP][/PHP]My old mailbox has taking a beating over the years and badly needs replaced, but I wanted something different from everyone else. I eventually want to open my shop to the public so thought this would be an attention grabber. Constructed of 16 gauge steel, the nose is a piece of tubing cut and formed. It's not done yet still have some work to do yet but thought I'd share. Attached Images

Reply:Yeah the horn is a bit pointy for my taste for something that would be out in public. It would be even worse if it was a real anvil in the shop. Walk into the horn of an anvil once and you'll quickly find out why many look like someone took a hammer to them and beat the end blunt.I think you did an excellent job fabbing this up. However the proportions at the front of the anvil look wrong and that grates on me a bit every time I look at it..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Yes the tip is too pointy, as I said in the original post it's not done yet and I plan on rounding it some. As far as the proportions I'm pretty happy with it I just started with an idea and started bending and welding sheetmetal together, had to keep certain dimensions (inside)to keep the mailman happy.
Reply:Ok : this is what you have to do ,before you put it on the post  drive to the gym and lift it in and out of the truck a few times when people are around , Oh and at least make it look heavy when you are doing it
