Is there really a difference between food grade 3003-H14 sheeting and other types sheeting, and if so what are the differences? Also is special aluminum MIG wire needed?
Reply:never heard of there being a food grade aluminum. Last I heard, cooking on aluminum was bad.... 3003 is the standard grade of aluminum sheet if need to be worked...bent..ect.Miller TrailBlazer 251Miller HF-250-1Miller MaxStar 150 STLHyperTherm PowerMax 380 plasmaLincoln PowerMig 180Millermatic 252Miller Diversion 180
Reply:3003 is cheese metal as far as I am concerned and I won't buy it. 5052 is better and the standard for the electronics industry for it's formability coupled with rigidity. I don't think there is a true food grade alum, apart from beverage cans.Weld like a "WELDOR", not a wel-"DERR" MillerDynasty700DX,Dynasty350DX4ea,Dynasty200DX,Li ncolnSW200-2ea.,MillerMatic350P,MillerMatic200w/spoolgun,MKCobraMig260,Lincoln SP-170T,PlasmaCam/Hypertherm1250,HFProTig2ea,MigMax1ea.
Reply:I used to do TONS of work for the food industry. Built lots of cutters to make products on the line. I still have never heard of any "food grade" aluminum.
