I picked up a gas welding torch setup this weekend, but can't figure out what size the tips are rated for. The torch body is a Harris 1000, and it included four Oxweld marked gas welding tips. The tips are simply marked "W-17 & 22", and "70", "55", "15", and "9". The "70" is the largest, and "9" the smallest of the set. I believe the last set of numbers denotes the size, but I have not been able to find a chart to indicate the thickness or recommended settings. Any guesses?
Reply:Oxweld, Purox, and Esab mark there welding/heating tip by CFH of Acetylene used. That looks about right for them. The 70 is rather large and really calls for more than one tank manifolded together. At the very least you need a AC5 tank to run it. Here's a brochure with the different tips and recommended thickness in it.http://mam.esab.com/assets/1/BDBA5CC...et_Main-01.pdf Here's the instructions for a W-17 Oxweld torch. It has the full specs for those tips. http://edgewh.esabna.com/literature/...g_F-4644-N.pdfMillermatic 252XMT 304'sDynasty 280DXHypertherm PowerMax 1250Miller Trailblazer 302 EFIOptima PulserXR feeder and XR Edge gun and more athttp://members.dslextreme.com/users/waynecook/index.htm
