I want to take my sa 200 and chop it down lower. Does anyone know a place that does it around the ft worth tx area. I cant seem to find one or get a answer from anyone on were to go
Reply:I would not alter anything original on my SA200. If you want to chop then pick up a bare frame and chop away. This will allow you to do a frame up build. You can sand blast / coat the frame and install your running gear. There are a couple of options for cooling. One is to go with electric fans and the other is to fabricate a bracket to lower your existing fan. Again, chop up parts that you procure for this specific job.At some point you will want to sell off / trade your welding machine. At that time you will want to have all of the original pieces and parts, un-modified. Moving (selling) a chopped machine is, at times, difficult. I'd pick up a non-running / junk welder to use as a "donor" for this project.Good Luck.Hobo Attached ImagesLincoln SA200's... at least 15 - 20. They come and go. Growing partial to the "Short Hoods" in my old age. Last count on Short Hoods was 13 in possession.
