Reply:I wasn't trying to make fun of you, the statement that Ed made was just funny. I think it's cool that you can take a HF tool and make it work properly. I know that people frown upon their stuff but I have seen people take some of their items and modify them and make them actually function good.Lincoln 175 HDVictor 100c
Reply:george , i need to upgrade the two big resistors on my 91814 PC Board.....im useing two big ceramic ones , and im thinking ther barely fine for the sheet metal cutting . Also angry the consumables used to be only pennies from the 800 parts# and are now $$ . Can i use shorter 'drag' tips or some alternative or will i hav to change the torch cap. I know some lil' dude is turning thousands of them on his little lathe somewhere in china for pennies. and i may hav to find him thermal arc 252i - millermatic 350P - miller XMT, cp300ts, 30a 22a feeders, buttload of other millers, handfull of lincolns, couple of esabs - Hypertherm 1250 G3
Reply:woi2ld, If you go to my web site then to my ebay page click on the link to my ebay store you will see I stock pipe tips, drag tips, guides and kits. The resistors you put in it should be OK, the main thing that kills them is holding a pilot arc to long. But I do have heavy duty ones. Email me at [email protected] or call my number it is on my site with what you need and let me know your from welding web and I will give you a better price. Reply:Originally Posted by DSW Yeah that's what I want to do, buy a tool I have to reengineer to make it actually "function good". If I wanted an electronics project, I'd buy a Heathkit. Not sure if you actually see the humor in your own statement. Not exactly a resounding endorsement of HF tools there. Maybe the reason people "frown upon their stuff" is simply because they would have to "modify them and make them actually function good". Why buy something that doesn't do what you bought it for?
Reply:george , my consumables look like the first pic.........will the drag tips in the second pic. work with my torch cap? And also , do u think they would last longer considering i usually angle drag my torch. and wat/which ones are pipe tips?
