1989 S1900 with a DT466 5 speed 2 speed  rear. 3,000lb crane. Need to build a deck between the cab and the bed for my welder and reroute exhaust stack. The yellow ford is a 91 F Super Duty it will/should be sold once the international is ready and everything switched out. Attached Images
Reply:Anybody with an International automatically has good taste.    Even more so someone who owns any vehicle in utility yellow.  Looking forward to seeing your progress.  From what I can see, that's a nice-looking Ford -- are you sure you're not going to want it around for a backup?
Reply:I knew I wanted an International for the dt466 it's the small block chevy of the diesel world and the international's look good. My wife and I considered keeping the Ford but being it's a 5 speed she can't drive it. I hope to sell it and replace with a single rear wheel 3/4 or 1 ton truck. Something that can fill in as a backup and be more versatile for our personal use. I pulled into the gas station last night though  and that dang gas is over a dollar cheaper than diesel what was I thinking  (the ford has a 460 and a 4.88 rear 8-9mpg) but the new truck should provide some growth which will hopefully  pay it's way and cover the difference.
Reply:Nice trucks!
Reply:You should add your location, I'm sure someone on this board will want to take that Ford off your hands.  If I remember right the 91 is fuel injected.Dirk
Reply:Do what I did and pull her vehicle out of service. Then tell her if she wants to go somewhere she can take the Ford. It won't take long for her to learn to drive the stick. She might even like it. Mine did... ;-)"The beauty of the Second Amendment is that it will not be needed until they try to take it." - Thomas Jefferson If the Lights are a Flashin', STAY OFF the tracks!!! It might be me at the Throttle...
Reply:I also think you should keep the ford and encourage the little lady to practice with the stick all she wants to, and for a change of pace perhaps she would like to learn to (stick) weld so that the two of you can have some more together time. Hope this helps.
Reply:I might be into the ford depending on the particulars
Reply:Sorry guys I should fill out my profile lol. I am in Rushville,  Ohio. Yes the truck is fuel injected. Yep plan to teach her and my 2 kids to weld. The name of Mt business is FMK welding and Salvage. The FMK  is for my kids I've always had jobs where my life was determined by someone  else.  Which was not great for the family. This business  is on my terms now lol.

Reply:Nice rig like it.Someday would like to get one with the DT466.
Reply:Ok sorry guys been busy working and coming home from jobs and spending evenings on the truck. I put on like new steer tires, swapped the 295/75/22.5's for 11r 22.5  drive tires. Traded my father in law 50 gallons of off road diesel for on road. Did a complete service. Patched drivers floorboard. Built a deck behind cab for my welder as well as relocated the batteries under the deck behind the red panel. Anyway came home Friday night and began the swap started at about 6pm and got done Saturday morning around 130am. My wife helped me unbolt the equipment and boxes from the old truck. I drilled the holes and mounted the equipment on the new truck and she once again gladly helped me bolt it all back down. Tomorrow will be it's first official day on the job. A little over a month ago is when all this began.

Reply:No those are running lights (not hooked up yet) although I could wire them to my turn signals and then use them as beacons .
