Reply:I might help if you told us the engine. Is it a welder or a locomotive?Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE

Reply:Yeah I saw that after I posted and I assumed that's what you were talking about. It's better to just say it and cut the confusion.I've never owned one of those machines so I don't know anything about them. Looks the only thing I could contribue to this thread is being the a$$. I guess every thread has to have one.Dynasty200DX w/coolmate1MM210MM VintageESAB miniarc161ltsLincoln AC225Victor O/A, Smith AW1ACutmaster 81IR 2475N7.5FPRage3Jancy USA1019" SBAEAD-200LE
Reply:Does it leak or just weep? The ones I've seen leaking, usually are ready for some bottom end work. If it just weeps, just run it till its time for an overhaul.
Reply:It's more of a weeping. What does the bottom end work mean?69 sa 200

Reply:Yea prob not a bad idea. But it runs great purrs like a kitten. Besides needing a paint job the leak and the idler upgrade is all it really needs. Speaking of... Anyone know wher I can find a used one???69 sa 200
Reply:Try tighten the bolts around the front cover, if like mine it not the seal it the cover. Bolts back off about every 20 30 hr. run time. I need to pull bolts and try new lock washers.1990 SA 200Miller 225 Rip Miller302Miller 135Lincoln 200 MigHypertherm 600 PlasmaPlasma Cam Cutting TableMikita Cold SawJL Welding Tx . com
Reply:I did tr that an it did help but It still leaks right onto motor mount. That's why I think it's the front main69 sa 200
Reply:I just did this It is not hard but I had to cut the hand crank brace off to get to the nut that holdes the pully it is no big deal. I will warn you that the new seal is not going to look like the old one but it does seal just fine clean the stem of the pully so there is no rust, and seat the seal so it doesnt ride in the same groove in the stem of the pulley. takes only about an hour from start to finnish and no more leakes.1997 SA 250
Reply:I've replaced several of the front main seals. It's not a bad job, as far as cutting the hand crank bracket off I didnt have too. Once you get the harmonic balancer off look at the area where the seal rides. If there is any grooves in it will probably leak again, if it's grooved go to Napa they sell a speedy-sleeve that you drive on the seal area of the balancer. This will cover any grooves and it will not leak any more. Once you have put the new seal in coat the lip area with grease or engine oil to prevent it from tearing. |
