So I got a refurb procon series 1 pump adjusted to 60 psi on the way. I want to verify that 60 psi is the right pressure? So my next move is to scroungs a 1750 rpm 220v volt motor, and figure out a way to connect the motor to the pump. Because I have not seen a setup in person, what will I need to be looking for as far as connection parts? Do I need to have the pump first? one last question. I see some of you have an aversion to aluminum tanks for the coolers, I understand the process of electrolysis, why cant you just throw a couple cheap anodes in the tank and replace once a year of heavy use?Last edited by shaynoak; 02-03-2015 at 03:38 PM.
Reply:Have you seen a picture of the pump shaft?  The Procon on my coolmate3 has a pump shaft that uses an internal key to drive it.  It looked like a wide flat blade.  I can't remember but the motor may have had the same setup on it.  Not all Procons have this setup though.

Reply:The Procon that came off of the coolmate3 says 55psi on it.  I assume that pump to be the factory one, I replaced it with the same pump.  I am not positive but you may be able to tweak that pressure some on the pump.
Reply:The Procon Series 1 on the Coolmate 3 is attached to the pump by a v-band clamp that captures the rear flange on the Procon pump and a similar mating flange on the motor.  The pump shaft has a slot in it.  So does the motor shaft.  A plastic or metal connector, with a 90 degree offset, fits into both shafts and transmits the power to the pump.  You can get these parts from EDCO Manufacturing, a Procon authorized pump rebuilder.  You can see the parts here:  http://edco-distributing.myshopify.c...rs-accessories   You can probably find them from a Procon distributor closer to you if you can find one.  You may have to find a motor with the slot in the shaft or have it cut after you get the motor. The Series 1 pump has adjustable pressure.  The reason that you needed to get the 60 PSI setting in the first place is that the adjustment range is not that big, and so the 125 or 250 PSI pumps have the wrong pressure spring and cannot be adjusted that low...
