Lincoln Pro Mig 140 for $200 - Good deal?

Found a lincoln pro mig 140 on craigslist listed for $200. Called the seller for more info. He sais its about 3 years old with very little use, less than a whole spool through the entire time he's owned it. The only thing he said is hes missing the regulator and theres a dent in the upper right panel.Does anyone know what these welders are worth used and if this is a good deal or not?

Reply:Yeah, if you can't run it to test it, I'd be wary.  There's usually more to it than what the seller tells you.Lincoln AC225 and CartLincoln WeldPak HD and CartOne hand
Reply:Sounds like a good deal, if it welds fluxcore without a problem, buy it.
Reply:Go to the LWS and buy a small spool (if they have them) of fluxcore on your way there.  That way, if it doesn't work, you're only out the wire.  If it does work, you will have a spool of usable wire.
Reply:You can't touch one of those units for less than $500.00 new. I would say if it's not stolen and it works, get it.
Reply:Reading this thread got me to wondering about duty cycle and how to test a used welder to determine if it still performs near a stated duty cycle level. How does one check accurately for that? In the case of this paticular welder, if the seller is not able to demostrate the gas delivery system as functioning... I'd be inclined to question why and then cautiously proceed from there.
