Not much welding here but a little and it is metal. I got stung on a deal on a hunting forum buying an ILF take down bow with 2 sets of limbs. The andle was delaminating and also had a crack in it. I decided to build my own out of aluminum. I took the old handle to the machine shop and had them cut it off at the right angles and drill and tap the appropriate holes. I took it to a friends shop and cut more off the block of aluminum. Every thing else was done with a 4 1/2" angle grinder and discs for aluminum. Shaping done, I finished up with sanding discs. I had my local powder coater put the finish on it, I put a leather grip on it and it is done. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.The only welding was two littlw pieces of bent 1/8" aluminum strap that had to be tigged to the handle at the ends of the limbs. I don't know that it needed them but all the handles I looked at on line had them so I put them on. They blended in well and maybe even made it look better. Attached Images
