Reply:Thanks Mike.That rock you see laying in the bucket in the last picture is platinum / palladium ore from the J-M reef formation at the Stillwater mining complex.  I always meant to grab a chunk of it to add to my personal rock collection but never carried thru on it.   It's actually a form of gabrro.  I mention that because I just read a thread by ARexpat where he mentions his new surface block is probably made from that.

Reply:HT2, what was your weld procedure in that first picture?  You mentioned in another thread that you used 'dual shield'....just wondering about the process ie: amount of bevel and number of passes?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
