Finally got a new Lincoln stinger for my tombstone. It is a EH-200 magnum stinger. It is the same as what all the new tombstone's come with. The original stinger is looking kinda rough after 40 years of welding with it,it's been a good one though.I am slowly remodeling it.I got a new ground clamp a couple of month's ago and I'm going to tear it all apart when warmer weather gets here.It still works fine but is looking a little worn after all these years. Reply:Are you going to replace your leads also or are they still in good shape?Putting the holder on is about a 5 minuet job.Putting new leads on is a pain. AC units are not bad but the AC/DC units can be a lot of work. Take the back off and you will find the diode shelf and inner panel in the way of getting to the switches where the lead are attached. If you are careful there are a few connections that can be opened and this panel can be removed. OR you can lay the welder on its back .Take out all the case screws. remove the knobs and name plate. unbolt all the switches and leads clamp. Then lift the case off leaving the weld behind. Feed in and attach new leads. install clamp loose. Pull extra leads out and mount switches and assemble the rest of the welder. I can do this in just over 1 hour.
Reply:Probably not going to replace the leads,It's all going to be a learning experience because I have never had the first screw out of it to take it apart.I seen another thread on here where a guy replaced his switch and what not,I'm going to use that thread as my instruction manuel to beginMaxus Pro-125 MigChicago Electric 90 amp DC flux-coreLincoln Electric AC 225 tombstoneO/A torchM/O mini-torch10 acres of flatland15 acres of holler
Reply:Congrats on your new stinger! The machine is fairly straight forward once you get in there. I've taken apart my selector switch and cleaned it up, as well as installed a new longer power cord. The trick is getting the holes lined up when you put it back together Lincoln AC225 and CartLincoln WeldPak HD and CartOne hand
