Could i run a miller xmt 304 off of a 20hp rotary phase converter, or am i better off just running it off of single phase 240 50a
Reply:A phase converter does not create power. If you are powering it from the same 50A circuit, that will still be the limitation. Straight single phase would eliminate some measure of inefficiency from the converter.
Reply:There are conversion losses when you use a phase converter.I offer three choices: Good, Fast, & Cheap. You may pick two.Hobart AC/DC StikMate LXHarbor Freight AD HoodHarbor Freight Industrial Chop SawDeVilbis 20 Gallon, 5 HP Compressor
Reply:You may be able to run an inverter with one but I wouldn't. They won't drive a transformer machine at all.I'm not sure exactly why they need an inductive load to work (maybe an EE could help here) but with the trans machines they just heat the wire or rod up to a glow.I'd just live with the single phase hookup.Matt |
