Hi everybody, first a small introduction, i have a small, high-end, catering company in the Netherlands and will be vending culinary specialties on the streets of Groningen. As a vending trailer i've got this plan:the trailer is a suspended axle with a max load capacity of 2000 pounds. I'll try to keep the weight of the total contraption under 1500 pounds because of the regulations here. The "box-frame" on top of the trailer will be made out of 2x2 inch tubing with a aluminium skin rivetted to it (i like the looks of rivets ;-)top will be marine grade ply with an alu skin. later, when i'm finaly making some money i'll upgrade to stainless....Tables are constructed the same way and can be folded. Please tell me your opinion!for your information: i think i'm a pretty good cook, and a reosonable welder but i know my limitations: all the "structral" welding on the trailer will be done by a pro.
Reply:I love the Big Green Egg's, heck, even I can cook on them decent sometimes...lol. Looks like a cool project to me. I like how you've got them enclosed, but they are heavy, make sure you can get to them without having to lift them out the top. There's all kinds of cool things you can add to the trailer, google BQQ trailers, you'll get all kinds of ideas. Here's some pics of a smoker I made out of hardi-board. Attached Images
Reply:I like your smoker, hardi-board, is that some kind of reinforced plasterboard?

Reply:Thanks firemanmike69! I've never seen it on this side of the pond... That is a nice and easy construction of a smoker though! |
