Reply:I used to weld 2 gum wrappers together. You could hold a lighter between them for a few seconds and then mash them together and they would weld. Couldn't pull them apart.

Reply:A little trick I used was to take two pieces of foil, sandwich the foil together between two pieces of scrap steel in vertical position. With about 1/4 to 1/2 inch sticking out. Start an arc on one of the steel plates then run the arc quickly over the foil sticking out of the plates. Normally it worked, kinda cheating but had a lot of fun with it in school.
