Anybody know why Lincoln used different flywheel to armature connection? I never seen a connection like the 1964 Red Face. I have a 1966 Red Face but never had it apart. I have had late 40s and mid 50s apart, and here is a 1971 I just took apart this morning. The 1971 is a F-163, all the others are F-162. Reply:The old ones have babbitt lord bearings that have to be repoured.
Reply:How old is old? Do you know approximate years? I just don't understand why a 1955 has the same flywheel as a 1971, but a 1964 is totally different. My 1948 is the same as the 1955, and 1971, seems strange to me that Lincoln would do that!Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400

Reply:Well you never know.As the story goes, I guess this project was running two shifts. The electrician was telling me his Dad was so impressed with this machine, and didn't want anybody else using it. So at the end of his shift he would place a piece of cellophane from a cigarette package under one of the brushes, so it wouldn't weld!    I wouldn't think the cellophane would last anytime at all, but I'd never think of doing this myself in the first place.Don’t pay any attention to meI’m just a hobbyist!CarlDynasty 300V350-Pro w/pulseSG Spool gun1937 IdealArc-300PowerArc 200ST3 SA-200sVantage 400
Reply:Hey CEP I tore apart a 47 model sa-200 one time and it had the same style as your 64 has. It took me awhile to seperate the armature from the motor. The short hood didn't have and aux. 115v plug, no starter, or no rheostat. It had a hand crank and a dial with a little dog chain running to the carb.1960 Redface SA-200 F 1621973 Black face SA-200 F 163 with 5" chop2013 Miller Trailblazer 2752013 GMC 3500 welding car
