Hobart Flux Core Wire

So is the Hobart flux core wire sold at places such as Tractor Supply the same as Fabshield 21? Reply:First time I ever ran flux core was Hobart fluxcore. It ran like utter garbage. Got a spool of hf fluxcore that ran better. Not to long ago I ran some fabshield off a friends engine drive. What a difference. Thinking of buying a suitcase and running it off my stick welder just because it's better. Why buy it at tractor supply? Do you have welding supplies near you?
Reply:I'd like to hear the real story of the differences between Hobart Brothers wire products and 'Hobart' wire products. Some more things happened in 2013 but I'm not sure just what. I believe that the Fabshield 21b (E71T-11) is a Hobart Brothers product made for Hobart. Reply:The Hobart rods at TSC are mostly junk. I assume the flux-core wire is as well. If you can't find Fabshield 21B locally, try Lincoln NR-212. It is a good wire as well.JohnA few weldersA lot of hammersA whole lot of C-clamps
Reply:I ended up ordering the 21B from AirGas online.  None of the local LWSs had it and none could tell me for sure how soon they could get it. On a side note, I have found that the Hobart 7018s at TSC are not too bad. Not Excalibur quality, but decent in my experience. Reply:Hobart is Hobart. There aren't 2 different companies. If it says Fabshield 21B it should be the same thing. If it runs like crap, it could be on the wrong polarity. Needs straight polarity.

Reply:Maybe they have some cheaper(import) product for the box stores just like Lincoln has cheaper MIG welders for the box stores?
