Three years ago I smashed my good miller helmet while on a job. There was a harbor freight close by so I bought one of their cheapies to get me through the day. That cheapie lasted three years before the batteries died. I took it apart and bought new batteries for it, when I installed the new batteries the viewer goes dark. When I pull one battery out I can see through the viewer. Anyone have any ideas what might be happening?
Reply:not being a dick..I can't believe you got 3 years out of it. our paint and body guy has one from there and I know he has taken it back 3 times and had them replace it within the last year.
Reply:his went dark and stayed dark twice. third time it looked like a lava lamp.
Reply:I think the key with those HF helmets is to keep them in a area with lots of light so the batteries stay charged when not in use. When I wasn't using it I always placed it by a window or light to keep the batteries charged. To be honest, it lasted about the same amount of time as the batteries in my miller helmet. And it cost much much less than the miller. I must of been lucky and got a good one.Last edited by kctgb; 05-03-2016 at 11:14 PM.
