Did some welds i think the machine is very smooth. Some reviews people said the there was a a slight delay on the foot pedal i didnt feel it. For the price of 2000.00 usd. I thinkg it is alot of machine for the price. Reply:Those 17s are no fun. Especially on AC. Why not build a AL tank? Way cheaper and it will cool the water down

Reply:DC is fine, it's when using on AC, it's there as far as a stepped/delay action. The machine has two area's where it's not as good as the previous Sanrex models. After ditching the twin switches in the ft pedal. (Problem for some units ) The stepped action/delay in response when using the machine on AC output,and the Tail-out of the arc, also when also using on AC.. The last model Sanrex was so good there, it hard to get use to the 186. Does not mean it's not a real fine welding machine, just not as nice in those areas. The arc quality is Just as good, and holds a nice point on most tungstens. I sold mine off, and found a Esab 2200i AC/DC, and it excels at the area where the Thermal does not. Of course, it's better then about everything in those two areas too..The Thermal is better with it's input power use on AC over the Esab, so it runs on a quality 6000 Genny at full 200 amps output AC. Reply:Oh nice. It looked like you used alot of heat looking at the bead with on the out side corner weld. What motor and pump are you gona run?

Reply:Me and you are going down the same rhode right now. I just finished my tank too out of AL. But no motor or pump. I got a wp20 tho. What do are you going with? Htp is a good deal!
