Dad got a little CNC router to play around with in the shop but the table it lives on is not big enough to leave the laptop with the machine. We had a cart sitting next to it but that was always in the way. Took an old monitor mount and made a plate for the laptop and a bracket that goes in the t-slots on the table. I used 1/8" material cut out on the torchmate table. Learned a valuable lesson on heat input when welding thin material. Need to learn how to tig into the inside corners because I'm not really happy with the welds. It is stitched together but it would have looked nicer if the welds went into the corners. Reply:Do you have any way to secure the laptop to the table? Otherwise it will get knocked out of it... I made a mount for my Panasonic Toughbook CF18 to mount it in my van for trips to Morocco where I want a bigger screen for the GPS than my GPSMap 60cx gives me... And besides resting on it, it has four claws which lock into some slots in the magnesium case of the computer. Rock solid!
Reply:I did not incorperate any locks into the design because it is either me or my dad out there. I might attach some tabs or a small strap to hold it down just in case.TOO MANY TOOLS & NO MORE SPACE
