Age of my Lincoln Idealarc 250/250?

I just found an old Lincoln Idealarc 250/250. The DC worked so I bought it for $40. The current control is stuck and it is real dirty. I'll have lots of fun restoring it. Anyway I found available documents on the Lincoln site but not sure when it was made. Does anyone know?Code 6933 and S/N AC-275610.Thanks,Bill Attached Images

Reply:To free up the current control just spray a little WD40 into the friction clamps front and back.rock it back and forth and after a little while it will come free. Just don't rush it.If the pointer arm is all bent up. The front panel will have to be removed and the pivot pin will have to be straightened. The slot for the pointer can have dents. The front can be removed with only disconnecting the weld terminals. take the crank handle off and unbolt the polarity switch and slide the panel off the switch handle.DOM is mid 1971

Reply:I enjoy bringing back old machines to life. Fan motor bearings were frozen and windings were a little toasty, but got that cleaned up and fan ran on the bench clamp for 20 minutes last night without getting too warm. Going to take my time. Thanks for the good information!
Reply:I just restored one, that's why I made that post earlier.  My fan was running, but a bit squeaky before I went through the motor. One of my motor leads was nearly broke at the case feed through and fell off when i touched it. Look for the Got myself a little project thread in this forum. Reply:GregI finally got a chance to look at your project "Got myself a little project" thread. Excellent Job! I've cleaned the inside of mine and hope to complete the body work and painting this weekend. After seeing your pictures, I want to take it all apart and do the inside too. My bridge rectifier uses 3 smaller diodes in parellel for each leg of the bridge. I like your's better since it's easier to tell if any are bad. I've gotten my current wheel loosened up but there is about 30 degrees of play in the wheel. Do you have any suggestions on  tightening up the crank gears?  I will post some pictures soon.Bill

Reply:Thanks Papa!I used 2 cans of Rustoleum Red. I took a Lincoln sticker with me to HD and found a perfect match. I took a wire wheel to the frame and got to about 20% bare metal. Didn't use any primer undercoat which I hope I don't regreat. I could have spent a little more time on it but the wife was after me to finish painting the house (see the paint cans in the garage). Anyway, I like your idea to paint the pointer.Bill
