I have been researching and viewing a lot of information on this site and have yet found one any better when it comes for asking for information so here it goes.My son and I have taken the step and purchased a Diversion 180 and are trying to pickup on learning how to tig.We are just hobbyist and car guys that enjoy the personal satisfaction of repairing it ourselves even if it takes learning how to use new equipment. We would like to know if someone could point us in the direction of what we would have to do to upgrade the tig torch and cable, is it something we could do ourselves with purchasing the correct parts. And is there any directions in how it can be done.all information will be greatly appreciated.David
Reply:David , I recommend a Ck superflex cable and their Flexloc tig torch, it's uncomparable to most stock cables, it is also available from usaweld.com (Htp)((they should have a direct fit cable for your machine)) they are amazing people to deal with, their customer service is top notch as well, Good luck to you and your son L-Tec PCM-VPi II Hobart Handler140Millermatic 35Lincoln Power arc 4000Lincoln Ranger 10,000 ( 3 ) Longevity Tigweld 160SX Purox O/A setup100lb anvilXLO/servosource cnc mill
Reply:You need to get this adapter to put regular one piece cables on the Diversion.http://www.usaweld.com/Miller-Divers...p/mildivck.htmHTP will sell you a package with it and the torch.I have the adapter and a Superflex cable on mine with a stock torch.I'm going to upgrade to a CK (which is what HTP sells) 130 when I get around to it.If you look at the 130 specs it's a pretty good match for the machine.I've read you need to stick to the 12 foot cables because of inductance or something. |
