Cast aluminum speaker cage repair

The owner dropped this and it broke to pieces - several cracks in the remaining large piece too.Speaker was $700 I'm told, and the manufacturer no longer makes the cage.1963 Airco 300 tig, 1/8" pure tungsten, #7 cup, 20cfh argon, 230 amps max on 1/4" sections.The coating was a super hard rubberized coating of some kind, took a wire wheel on angle grinder to get most of it - sand blast the rest - then die grind and cutter wheel to finish prep.Bottom welded out.All parts were V cut for welding after being tacked into position.Dave J.Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance. ~George Bernard Shaw~ Syncro 350Invertec v250-sThermal Arc 161 and 300MM210DialarcTried being normal once, didn't take....I think it was a Tuesday.

Reply:Great looking repair.....mabe the old cast stuff is better quality( actually can be welded) than the new mix of whatever they can melt down and make into stuff...Of all the things I lost I miss my mind the most...I know just enough about everything to be dangerous......You cant cure stupid..only kill it...
