I built this table in a hurry to get the plate off the ground and to have a useable workspace to do all my work at home. It's a 1/2" sheet 4'by8'2-1/4". I look back at all the advice given at the time and wish I had the money at the time to do it as I was advised to. Well lucky for me I have some money to play with now. Not a lot. I'm hoping I can buy the steel to build the shelf and put a support or two in. As it is now my dimensions are roughly 65-3/16" length and 44-7/8" deep for the frame. I'd like to add two more beams length and width wise for a shelf and one center beam and add a center beam on the top of the frame. All 2.5" box I think 3/16" wall. I have to pull top off to confirm. I'm also trying to decide if I want to shorten the depth up a few inches well 4" to be exact so I can use clamps to clamp to the top. As I'm not happy with my welds or the overall quality of the table. Again I'm no professional and I'm definitely not a good welder and sad to say I'm ashamed of what I built. Anywho...  I plan to put this shelf about 18" from the lower half of the frame so I can build racks underneath to slide long pieces of steel for storage. And I'm building the shelf so heavy because I put a lot of heavy stuff on my shelves. And I want this table to be incredibly heavy. I'm sure there's more but this is going to be a long drawn out affair as time is very little for me to work on projects right now. So hopefully I'll have some updates at some point. I have the clamps on the top because someone tried to cut the top to scrap it and I had to weld up the cuts. I tried to keep it flat and failed horribly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:Condensation is almost unbearable and everything rusts when it rains unless I spray everything down with wd40 or oil. the building itself did fine. The structure is over 5 years old that I know if. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Reply:Maybe consider adding receiver tubing . You could add two pieces on the end where the chop saw is. Make a frame to set the chop saw on so you'll have more table space.A pedestal will work for a chop saw , vice, and bench grinder. Here's some , http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php...=show+me+yours
Reply:I had seen a design were someone has made a shelve to put the chopsaw on so the table could be used to support the work. I was thinking of something like that for the chopsaw. I could do it with receiver tubing also. And I haven't found a good vice yet so I haven't begun mounting plans yet. I do need to figure out my grinder though. It seems where ever I put it at some point it's in my way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Reply:That would be the table. I'm hoping I can get to the metal supplier within the next two weeks. I've been wanting to finish this table since I built it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
