I really need more arc time with TIG so this project would be all TIG. Welding the end frames.Completed frameAs you can see I need more arc time.
Reply:A few more pics. The holes you see are 1/4 20 tapped holes for drawer runners. Needs to be heavy duty so I am using a double pair of 100#ers on the bottom 3 drawers.Connecting the frames. One of the many times the assembly was flipped around in the jig to balance out the stress. Each pass would pull it out of square. Knowing the pull direction helped me guess how much to pull with the diagonal clamps to compensate.
Reply:No one ever has too many clamps!!I like your table. Will watch to see finished base.Burt _____________________Miller Syncrowave 250Millermatic 211Miller 375 Plasma Cutter Hobart Handler 12010FtDrillBit.com

Reply:I saw some big mill tables on craigslist and ebay before and had the same thought too. Good stuff! Thanks for posting!12v battery, jumper cables, and a 6013.I only have a facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/VPT/244788508917829

Reply:Stitching on the 10 gauge panels. The screw heads are being used to space the panels face perfectly with the tubing radius. Pieces of emt are diagonally jammed against the inside while I tack. Tacking was a PITA because my arms and neck no longer like to pretzel like they did when I was a kid. Some of the tacks were done blind, just managed them by sound. None to pretty but after braces were removed I had full access to the inside to stitch things up.Starting to look like something now.Close up of the panel detail. And it is still sitting dead flat on the table when upright. Reply:Very cool project.....nice job. I also like the clamp table setup. I'm jealous.
Reply:3/4 drilled and tapped foot plates and sitting on the floor for the first time.Had to transfer 12 of these holes to some 1/2" anchor plates below. All holes were drilled and tapped 1/2 x 13 on my CNC mill. This part of the project is getting its paint job right now. Full extension drawers are next.
Reply:A bit more progress.Drawers mounted with slides and set in for front fitting. Paint schemeDrawer fronts tacked and ready for stitching to drawer body. Attached Images
Reply:Ditto, like the clamps!
Reply:Common tool wells done, lined with leftover EPDM rubber roofing and a 304 16 g stainless cap. Industrial type drawer pulls from my pile of misc stuff. Diracro #4 mounted. Base is all set for a narrow pallet jack to move it around. Base is very heavy with 10 g drawers. Base does not really move when using the compound lever bar.All that is left is to line the drawers with more of the EPDM rubber roofing, did that after these pics were taken.
