Drier outlet Extentension cord for Welder

I recently purchased a Miller Dynasty DX 210 foir use in my home shop (garage). This is a hobby for me and I needed a adapter to use to hook it up to my Drier outlet. I used to rent a welder and they always gave me the adapter/extension cord. I searched online and really couldnt find one so I made one. I saw a couple of posts about it on here which was very helpful. I purchased NEMA 6-50r receptical and a NEMA 6-50P. I put the 6-50p on the welder power cord and put the 6-50 receptical on the new 6 ft drier electrical cord. Plugged it in and it workerd perfect. I am getting the garage wired for my welder soon but in the meantime this works. Hope this helps someone if they are doing the same.TEAM GUILTYMiller Dynasty 210 DX
Reply:Please re-work the 6-50p. The outer jacket of the cord needs to extend into the plug a little so if any stress is put on the cord it doesnt pull the connections apart.Eventual master of the obvious, practitioner of "stream of consciousness fabrication".  P.S. I edit almost every post because because I'm posting from my phone and my fingers sometimes move faster than my brain.

Reply:Keep in mind dryers are 30 amp and most welder plugs are 50. But unless you are cranking the amps up you should be ok. Also newer dryers are a 4 prong plug. Kitchen range is a 50 amp, but different plug, again might be 3 or 4 prong. I once used vice grips to clamp bare wires to buss bars, might not have met code.
Reply:This is a 3 prong older house. Its temporary until I get the garage wired for it in the next month or so. I have a beand new welder and excited to use it. Wife has a couple of projects we are in the middle of. Bathroom bedroom etc... I need to weld a couple of things for my Quad. Lightbar andf skidplate.TEAM GUILTYMiller Dynasty 210 DX
