My new/old Lincoln AC-225

I smoked my Canox Sparkler AC/DC.  The amp adjustment is stripped.A fellow Ironworker heard about it and offered me this one for FREE.  Says it has been passed around and had not much use over the years.He has been a big help in many ways to me over the years and I will always remember him  Attached ImagesGordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

Reply:I'd have to say that carbon arc torch has seen little to no use from its condition.  Nice addition to the accessories "toolbox".. . . and there's absolutely nothing wrong with huggin' your machines. Reply:LOL - Ida kissed it but my wife already thinks I am strange.  Don't want to verify it Plugged it in today.  Looked through my stash in the basement and found some 6013 - 3/32.  The 1/8 tube was empty   Grabbed 3/32 - Fleetweld 180 and some 1/8 - 7018 Excaliber.No problems with the Fleetweld 180 - 6011.  I worked just like I expected it to.Was quite surprised to find that little buzzer runs Excaliber like a champ.  Runs good, holds the arc, restarts well.  Got so excited by that discovery I phoned the Welding Instructor at our local College and told him.  He was surprised too,  Don't quite know what to make of that.  The Sparkler I broke ran it but I had been told that the Lincoln buz-box needed special 7018-AC and nothing else would work.  Maybe that was just for the old 180 amp limited input welders?Good thing.  I have the better part of two sleeves of Excaliber and am not so fond of 6013 so now am not forced to get used to it.  Didn't even crack that tube of 6013 today.  Will leave that for another day.Gordie -- "I believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant."

I don't think I could part with my lincoln anything for free. But that's cuz I am such an a-hole.
