I have a lincoln AC 225 welder that welds great with 6011 but doesn't weld worth the crap with 6013, 7014, 7018AC or 7024. I have been welding off and on for 10 years so I don't think it's me but I might be doing something wrong. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Reply:6011 is a whip rod, aka long arc rod. 6013, 7014, 7018AC and 7024 are drag rods (short arc). They should all run on your machine if your using a quality name brand rod. 3/32 dia rods will be easy to control.JasonLincoln Idealarc 250 stick/tigThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 52Miller Bobcat 250Torchmate CNC tableThermal Arc Hefty 2Ironworkers Local 720
Reply:Thanks for the advice. I have tried everything, different rods, different technique, different heat settings and I can't make this thing run on anything but 6011. I did some welding tonight and posted on the general welding section with my results. It will have the same title. Thanks
Reply:Can you explain what is wrong? I do not understand with it
Reply:The answer to this thread can be found in the general welding section as the OP posted the same thread there too. |
