Stroke Sander Face lift

I bought this rodgers stroke sander from a guy locally and it was in a little worse condition than i expected, but i got a decent deal on it, it came with over 70 belts and they dont come up for sale too often so i bought it.I forgot to take pics before as usual, but it was painted an atrocious green/blue with orange accent and some silver mixed in.  Just about everything that could be bent, was. And the bearings in the idler wheel needed some attention.So i fabricated a new base, with 8" casters from grizzly, and sandblasted everything that i could fit inside my cabinet and repainted it.  I fired it up and this baby rips.  At some point the low speed motor was replaced with a 5hp 3000+RPM motor.The last pics is bad lighting, there is no black in the grain, its reflected off the underside of the stainless shroud that covers the upper part of the belt. Reply:some build picsMy 4X6 bandsaw wouldnt miter the 6" channel, so i cut and laid out everyone single piece by had with a portaband and a cutoff wheel (cant wait till my FMB saw shows up) All miters are side gusseted and were cut on the waterjet as well as the caster mounting plates Attached Images
Reply:I think 2 things:1. you're out-growing your shop.1a. luv the fab table, with just the right amount of clamps and vice-grips.1b. "portaband and cutoff wheel" Uugh!! the humility!  (sorry, just ribbing ya  )2. I'm guessing a stroke sander is for planing larger pieces of metal?  Looks like a nice piece of equipment and a good job on the re-build.Lincoln SA 200Esab Caddy 160Thermal Arc 201TSMiller Dialarc HFI don't like making plans for the day because then the word "premeditated" gets thrown around the courtroom....
Reply:My shop is getting much too small, ill snap some pics and do a mini tour.  i thought 1700 Sq ft was huge when i moved in haha
