My neighbor approached me about repairing a piece of equipment for him. He has chicken houses and has a chicken manure tiller that he wanted to fix. I told him to bring it over and I'd see what I could do. This is what he showed up with. That chicken manure is some powerful stuff. Attached ImagesGraysOrnamentalIron.com
Reply:Had to cut back to good metal on the bottom and replace the hinges and bar. Also had a piece on top that was about the same. Had to use the O/A to get the old bar out of the lower hinges. Attached ImagesGraysOrnamentalIron.com

Reply:You did a great job with that. When I was into hogs I pretty much rebuilt anything touching the manure in either stainless steel or wood if the pigs couldn't get at it to eat it. Reply:Good job. The repair and paint turned out nice. If you think poultry farms are hard on equipment... wait till the dairy brings you something to repair. That stuff will rot the loader arms right off the tractor.

Reply:Chicken poop is some pretty rich stuff. When I was a kid I burnt up a section of a guys old alfalfa field putting chicken poop on at the same rate as cow manure. It turns into a terribly fine powder too."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
