Lincwelder 225 engine

I have a lincweelder 225 with onan engine i am going to start a rebuild and i was wondering if this onan block would interchange with mine the serial number for the new block is 221425 and the serial number for mine is 160456 and also i was wanting to know if all or most of the parts in mine would work in the new block thanks

Reply:TJ likes his fishin'.Second suggestion would be to contact your local Cummins/Onan dealer but be prepared.  I doubt you'll get as much assistance with your question as you will with TJ but I could be wrong.That said, the 2 cylinder Onan went thru many transitions over its years and I can say for certain many parts will interchange between the CCK, B series and P series but I don't have SN information that would allow me to say what specific series and block configurations you're dealing with.  However, if the two blocks are of the same series, it's pretty safe to say you're OK although even within a particular series there were some subtle differences that don't always prevent cross applications.For example, I have a '93 P216 with the crankcase breather assembly on the lifter cover that replaced the original '96 P216 that has the breather located on a boss in the block.  To make the conversion I had to swap out the crankshaft in the '93 for the one from the '96 due to the differences in crank-to-rotor connection methods of the two years.Different cylinder bores obviously present an issue such as P216 vs. P224 as will different srokes such as P216 vs. P218/220 vs. P224.Last edited by duaneb55; 08-14-2011 at 02:25 PM.MM200 w/Spoolmatic 1Syncrowave 180SDBobcat 225G Plus - LP/NGMUTT Suitcase WirefeederWC-1S/Spoolmatic 1HF-251D-1PakMaster 100XL '68 Red Face Code #6633 projectStar Jet 21-110Save Second Base!
Reply:I assume you are talking about the Lincoln 225 with two batteries, one on each side. If so, this is a cast iron block, and CCK engine. The Performer series are all aluminum. weldersales
