Seeing as how my Powermax45 shows up Fri, plus I been bytchin how my TIG was on bottom shelf of cart, I decided today to get started with overdue redo.I quickly figured how the TIG needed to be up close and in easy reach when sitting at my table, but been too busy doin for everyone else until today.I'm maybe odd, but I like EVERYTHING all on one cart that is super easy to roll to worksite and feed off just one extension cord, so I stuck with the plan. Now I have all three processes and gasses on one cart stacked in best order.....MIG and TIG/Stick on top, both plasmas will be in middle, and whole bottom shelf is now free for footpedal ,spool gun, circle cutter, plasma parts kits, gloves.....In fact, I now have room to add another shelf in bottom.I'm pleased with how everything worked out so far. But I still need to add another shelf and better cable management scheme.Getting started, already built wider shelf extensions and moved tig to top when I took this one.About half way done...thinking cable hangersYeah, buddy! Plenty of room for the new plasma right next to old one.Handy little tray for tig stubby lens kit, pliers, soapstonesDone for night..still need better cable scheme and additional shelf in bottom...AND to clean up my shop!
Reply:Gents, forgive me for this yawner tread, but I really haven't had much recent welding to do except tinker with this cart...kinda relaxing for me and fersure boring for you...Anyway, I decided to finish up by showing my progress where I'm beginning to win the cable battle and add little improvements.I received the new powermax 45 and got her installed on middle shelf then attacked cable storage issues.I decided to add torch cable strain reliefs to mig and tig in hopes they will serve to prevent strain on welder to cable plugs and help lengthen life of my liners and torch leads....I built similar cable strain supports for both mig and tig, then drilled small holes in standoff bracket to run tie wraps thru to keep cables in place. Plus constructed simple lift off cable hanger and torch holster for the tig.Still more left to do, but happy with progress and results.
Reply:I like the little kick stand for the mig gun/cable, great idea
