I got tired of having to move the portaband every time I need the vice. I bought the plate from Swag off road years ago but never got around to making legs for it. This morning I needed to use the vice and of coarse the saw was clamped in it so that was the last draw, it would get a stand today.Got some angle and 1/8" plate and went at it.Here are some pictures of the build. Reply:More pictures.Yes, I used the little table top drill with a step drill for the holes as the big drill press was already setup for another job. Needs some paint but now I can use the vice. Reply:Good idea...I built a bracket for my portaband and it is either clamped in the way or sitting on the ground when I need it. I'd like to build legs for mine too.You can get an inexpensive foot pedal at HF. They sell two types. You want to make sure you get the one "press on, press off," instead of the one which stops as soon as you let your foot off the pedal.KevKevin / Machine_Punk from The Aerodrome Studio - Lincoln PowerMIG 210 MP - Meco N Midget w/custom welding station - Vintage Victor 100Current Projects: The Aerodrome Studio |
