I made this over the last few days. Shaking the bugs out of it and have trimmed just over a thousand cases.  Still needs some tuning but it suits me for right now. Some DCEN on the thick aluminum and some MIG on the steel. Two turn tables and a microphone.
Reply:Now that's really cool, I still turn mine by hand with my old Lyman. I bet the boy's over on CAST BOOLLIT'S would like to see that.Last edited by backhoe; 04-18-2015 at 05:06 PM.
Reply:Pretty cool. I've got my RCBS set up with a 1/4 coupling nut and use a real small drill motor with a standard 1/4 inch tool holder/adapter. Not as good as what you've got there but better than Hand cranking them out. Actually I should say that I am the production manager and my lil woman is my one and only laborer. I just hated for her to be out there for hours on end cranking them out by hand and then mowing the yard into the dark of night. Had to come up with something quicker. Reply:Pangea  I like the looks of that trimmer.  My son just bought some reloading equipment and brought up to the farm  today.   He wants me to build a bench and get it set up.   What are you mostly reloading?  Do you know anything about the .300 blackout? Several guys around here have started shooting them to keep the noise down and they were telling me that under 100 yards they were pretty mean.   What size electric motor.  Good job.  Richey
Reply:ive got a chain driven Dillon 1050 for brass prep and 300BLK conversion.  Its pretty bad *** and effortless.Your setup looks pretty decent.  Watch the pressure you put on your trimmer motor.  Dont know what kind of bearings it has in it, but they usually arent rated very highly for thrust.  Ive burned up quite a few Dillon trimmer motors until I switched to their new big one.
Reply:I load for .223, .243, .30-30, .30-06, 9mm, .357/.38, .45 ACP.My opinion on the .300 blackout?  The 7.62X39 didn't need re-inventing.  Just my opinion.Two turn tables and a microphone.
Reply:Pangea   Thanks for the response.  I will pass that on to my son.
Reply:For 90 bucks you can get one of these and just chuck it up in your drill press:  http://www.giraudtool.com/Tri%20Way%20Trimmer.htmTim

Reply:Brilliant.

Reply:Originally Posted by rjacobsI process around 3k 300blk per day.  5.56 processing i can do about 5k a day since i can run the machine a lot faster.  300Blk I'm limited to about 1000 per hour due to feed rate restriction on my trimmer, any faster and there is a lot of swarf left on the case mouth which ends up in my wet tumbler instead of in the vacuum.  5.56 is trimming such a minute amount i can crank the machine speed up.  I'm not currently setup to process 308 as every conversion on a dillon 1050 is 500-600 bucks. My guess on why people aren't accepting brass right now is that the market is **** and they have a ton of their own brass sitting around that they have money tied up in.  I have never really accepted other people's brass due to quality control issues.  I took in 5k pieces of 5.56 to convert to 300blk for a good customer of my business partners and 1/4 was trash and the guy was pissed at me although he gave me **** brass.  I never took in other brass after that.  I would rather lose money than put out a sub par product.
