I was wondering if this would work. A couple of concerns/questions. Welders in question: Lincoln Weldanpower AC/DC 225 with 6K watt 26amp generator and Lincoln square wave 200 tig. The tig input specs are: 230V 22 amp @ 200 amp output. Question 1: is this generator sufficient? I understand 22 is less than 26 but it's close. Question 2: Does this generate "clean power" (I forget the technical term, harmonic distortion maybe). I read somewhere that newer tig machines require clean power because of the sensitive electronics. Thoughts? Concerns? Any input is appreciated. Thanks guys.Miller Bobcat 225AHP AlphaTig 200X
Reply:That should work. The power created by a generator is clean until something such as a ballast transformer messes with the wave form on that line.I run my inverter plasma cutter on generator power all the time.old Miller spectrum 625 Lincoln SP-135 T, CO2+0.025 wireMiller model 250 and WP-18V torchCraftsman 100amp AC/DC and WP-17V torchCentury 115-004 HF arc stabilizerHome made 4 transformer spot welderHome made alternator welder |
