Anyone tried it? If so did the higher speed chop saw destroy the $78.00 Evolution blade? The Evo' machine spins about a thousand RPMs slower than the average wood cutting chop saw, so there might be a down side to running it at 3 Grand.
Reply:Really bad idea, at best, you wreck a nice blade, worst, it starts shedding carbide teeth at mach 10 into and through the plastic shroud around your wood saw, Any that make it by the shroud will probably try to find you and any other soft target around.Spend a couple hundred and run the blade in the right saw or you will likely hurt yourself.
Reply:As mentioned this is a bad idea. At best you'll ruin the blade almost instantly. At worst you'll need to make use of your health insurance..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth! Ronald Reagan
Reply:could a potentiometer be wired in to vary speeds?
Reply:Rage blades are total pieces of Shiit anyway. They fail miserably at the speed they are designed for. Major safety issue too. Dry cut says demand your full attention much less spinning that blade as fast as a chop saw. Why doesn't your intuition tell you this is a bad idea? You should leave power tools to the rest of us.
Reply:whats wrong w / a $5 abrasive blade? i would only cut metal with a toothed blade on a proper coldsaw ( ~100rpm)those toothed carbide blades work poorly on high rpm cutoff machines . destined to fail .... way too high SFM for steel .....and those hot chips are scary (and the occasional carbide tooth)slinging out of the machine.Miller S60 feederCobramatic push/pull feederMiller CP-252tsLincoln Tig250/Tig250Lincoln weldpak 100 -italianC-H 90A- italianHarris & Victor O\Afull manual & CNC machine shop |
