Can anybody tell me if this air compressor has an air cooled aftercooler on it? It doesn't say it does but it looks like it does? I just want to make sure so I order the right kind of air dryer. http://www.mactools.com/shoponline/p...r-175-psi.aspx

Reply:I thought maybe that copper pipe was something for a aftercooler couldn't tell, so your 100% sure it doesn't have one on it?
Reply:Killer nailed it, nope no after cooler, google it and you wil find that it is a seperate piece of equipment.Ronhyper therm, esab, miller, a 22,380, 45acp, 223. 308, 12 guage and a 9 mil the 45 is for ccw, a 9mil will kill the body, the 45 will kill the soul.
Reply:I guess more could be said to help. the pipe you see is the hot air line that goes from the pump to the tank, the finns are an attempt to dissapate some of the heat from the line as it goes from the pump to the tank. As the heat raises and loweres in a tank, condensation occurs, hence the moisture build up in a tank. The moisture in the tank is what will rust out a tank, ruin air tools, harm paint jobs etc. That is also why there are drain cocks on the bottom of tanks, to drian out the moisture out of the tank. the seperate cooler will creat a cool air flow from the tank to the tool for a better and cleaner air source from the tank. and of course this is all just my opinion. However air systems in large vehicles are set up the same way, gut will have air driers in line to obsorb the moisture formed in the tank.hyper therm, esab, miller, a 22,380, 45acp, 223. 308, 12 guage and a 9 mil the 45 is for ccw, a 9mil will kill the body, the 45 will kill the soul. |
