So is there a good way to get our 45 degree miters to line up on say like a 3 foot long tube?Just scribe a line down the whole thing and use a square to make sure its at the top?hell is there even a good way to scribe a even line down a tube?

Reply:That's a nice saw but I think the question is how best to get the miters coplanar. When ever I work w/ pipe or tubing the first think I do is scribe a line down the length of each piece. This serves as my Z reference.Syncrowave 300Maxtron 450, S-52E, 30A
Reply:How I spribe the line:Short section: lightly clamp on a surface plate. set height gauge to approximately 1/2 diameter and scribe. Long sections; clamp to table or block it on the floor, 1,2,3 block or anything else that will get your scribe up to 1/2 diameter and scribe.If you want to get quick and dirty on a long length; snap a chaulk line from the underside.Syncrowave 300Maxtron 450, S-52E, 30A

Reply:I also sometimes put a magnetic level on the last cut if that angle is plumb and your saw cuts straight up and down they are real close. |
