HTP tig machines

What are the general thoughts on the HTP machines? Are they top quality? I have never used one. I am trying to avoid stuff like the everlast, ahp, etc and keep most my equipment red or blue but the HTP stuff looks pretty nice.Also what is the deal with their inventory? I got a catalog from them with a flow meter I purchased and when I went to their website most there machines are out of stock and not available until May or June. Are they waiting on a boat from China or what?
Reply:The HTP tigs are European built from what I hear. I have heard very little bad about them. HTP sells out of them very fast it seems. Reply:I don't think you will find a bad report anywhere on this board. There was at least one post/video that showed the internals of the machine compared to the internals of a Miller Dynasty and a few Chicom welders. I think user Zizzle posted it. it appears to be very well built and very well engineered from the pics and video I saw.Miller Multimatic 255
Reply:HTP invertigs are made in Italy by Stel http://www.stelgroup.it/?lang=en The HTP-221 they sell here is rated as a very top quality machine in Europe, it just wear different paint and is compliant with European electrical regs. http://www.stelgroup.it/tig-dp-221hpa-ac-dc/?lang=en Keep in mind the newest wizbang 9-10K Lincoln tig is also made in Italy. I cannot compare my HTP-221 to other tigs because I have only used this one...But I do know that I did tons of research before I bought it, and went full bore money no object and I am VERY pleased with my selection.Yes, the importer here in USA often sells out due to their popularity....But they are also very popular all over the world where Stel refuses to increase production beyond their quality control process and standards.....In my mind, that makes them worth waiting for.Last edited by wornoutoldwelder; 04-03-2015 at 02:02 PM.
Reply:Can't say enough good things about the machine and customer service you get from USA Weld. Coming from a Lincoln 175, I'm impressed with the features and best bang for the buck price.
Reply:Yup, very happy with mine.  For the price, it's one of the best bang-for-the-buck AC/DC TIG's out there, with features not available in other tig's in it's price range.  Wornoutoldwelder hit the nail on the head.  They are produced in Italy, and they are not just hammering them out as fast as they can.  Not that they don't fail, but you'd be hard pressed to find anything on the entire internet about any kind of serious issue with it.  I'd say it's 100% worth the money that it costs. 1st on WeldingWeb to have a scrolling sig! Reply:I've bought a few things other than a welder from them. Jeff Nolan is the guy that runs the place. Great guy to deal with. When I have the coinage to buy a TiG it's going to be from there.

Reply:Aspect 375.. Before they were released, my Friend looked at one at his shop.. (Rep was making the rounds in the PNW) Said built in the USA on that unit..Invertec v350 pro is USA made along with the C-300-S-350 etc...
