My wife was on the most evil site there is, Pinterest, and saw a light fixture made out of an old wooden beam. She decided we needed one to go over the dining table in our new house that is being built. After looking at the prices of the one she liked best, I decided to build it myself. I will have an office/ fly tying room in the new house and thought it wise to practice on a smaller one for it. Just finished it and it came out great. Unfortunately she decided to go with inset reflectors on the big beam now so it's going to get more difficult than this one.The lights are recessed in the beam but the edges had to be beveled out for more light. The top had to be cut in to hide the wiring, connection box and to lighten it up a bit. The wire will go up the tube to the box in the ceiling so no wire will show. Attached Images

Reply:Sweet build. And you're right, that Pinterest site is evil. The honey-do list has grown exponentially for all men since that site came to be. No rest for the weary!
Reply:Will you blacksmith some canopies to hide the boxes in the ceiling? An optimist is usually wrong, and when the unexpected happens is unprepared. A pessimist is usually right, when wrong, is delighted, and well prepared.
