I've got a Bobcat 250 with a Kohler LP engine and I'm wanting to wire it for a remote start, as in, a controlled start when i'm not around for charging my solar systems battery bank. I'm hoping to use the welder as a back up generator, as well as use it in my shop. I'll plant it (stationary) in the shop area, plumb the LP from our main tank to the welder, and use it in the shop when needed. It will be 'controlled' by a Xantrex SW5548 inverter/charger, and feed two lines of 120vac into each of two of these inverters. The inverters will control the charging of the battery bank with bulk/absorb/float settings, and will shut the generator off when finished. I've been told I'll probably have to figure out something for an automatic choke, so if anyone has any ideas on that, it will help. I've checked out the Bobcat manual and have located the section on the starting schematics, but i'm hoping one of you all may have seen this done before and may have some tips or warnings. I may end up having to get a generator that's more "auto start friendly", but since this is going to be a rare occurrence, and I've already got an 11kw generator sitting inside my Bobcat, I'd rather use it than fork out bucks for another generator, especially since I already have a 'spare' Sportsman dual fuel 4kw genny. Thanks for any ideas, folks. Lee Butcher"When I rest, I rust"  Old German proverb
