Good day all, unfortunately over the last bit the "green goblin" i call it has been getting increasingly less reliable between the power source, foot pedal, and water cooler requiring work. While i knew going in it wasn't going to be a long term investment machine its come to the point where i need to upgrade for reliability/less frustration. I will say however it certainly made me money and was an excellent buy for starting up our business, just from a professional welding standpoint it just cant stand with the big boys pipe wise. What i am experiencing now, for instance while tig welding aluminum i can weld at roughly 180-220 amps variable by foot pedal of course for 2-5 minutes... obviously not straight but at the 3-5 minute mark the machine will throw an E01 and not do anything. Shut machine down and let it sit for 10 minutes, fire it back up and itll generally be back to normal and i can weld for another 3-5 minutes and same scenario E01. Its like its hitting a thermal overload and protecting itself but fan is still roaring away so how could the machine be getting to hot? Just wondering if this is fixable on my own, or if its even worth sending back to Everlast for repairs as i would like to sell it, at this point i just couldn't sell it with these issues. Or do i just chuck it in the garbage and be grateful it lasted for 4 years lol.
Reply:To talk with tech support call 877 755 9353 at ext 207 9 am to 5 pm eastern monday through Friday. Or visit our website or look in your manual for contact information, including email. It's under warranty if it's 4 years. It has a 5 year warranty.A few questions:When was the last time you cleaned it out on the inside, have you cleaned it out quarterly as recommended? Have you checked to make sure all 4 fans are operating and one is not down? Did you buy the NOVA pedal (the recommended one) or the standard one? What cooler work did you require?I'll tell you this. We have many many units out there hammering hard 10 hours a day for 10 + years. But IF you were here and interested in getting help, why throw off on the welder publicly when it has made you money and you haven't even contacted tech support or tried to enact the warranty first? And if you will be open minded and indeed balanced and fair in your "assessment", you'd see the multiple threads on this site where their Miller or Lincoln "heavy hitter" unit as you say blew up after 3 years of use....and much greater expense because they only have a 3 year warranty.Last edited by lugweld; 6 Hours Ago at 09:21 PM.Esab Migmaster 250Lincoln SA 200Lincoln Ranger 8Smith Oxy Fuel setupEverlast PowerPlasma 80Everlast Power iMIG 160Everlast Power iMIG 205 Everlast Power iMIG 140EEverlast PowerARC 300Everlast PowerARC 140STEverlast PowerTIG 255EXT |
