HI there. I just started week 3 of welding school. I thought id share my progress and take observations. I have never done any of this before. Coming from a 15 year carrier in Bread baking. Needed more income and benefits job now as I'm a single parent and almost 40. We started week 1 with oxy cutting.
Playing with 1in plate cutting.
I'm kinda happy with this steep bevel the angle on it gives a bout 1 3/4 in cut maybe 1 1/2.
We then at week 1 had a 5/8 in plate cutting test. 2 rectangles 2 1in holes 2 3/4 in holes and a 45deg bevel. Not to bad..for 1 week work of practice
We moved on start of week 2 with plasma cutting. NOW ive only used it super quick 2 times before this EVER! The plate 2 rectangles, 2 3/4in circles 2 1/2in holes. the other half of the plate we needed to do a fish. My Barracuda turned out ok. Its still rough in that picture. Now week 2 we also started stick with some rough ESAB E6010. Doing beads. Tested today on it. Vert up, vert down, horizontal, and flat. Pictures of that to follow. We move on to E7018 Tomorrow.
