Got a job thrown in my lap and I don’t do a whole lot of structural steel so I need some of you experts advice . How much time should this take to weld up and how do y’all charge ? I got 64 of these to do the contractor is supplying the materials I cover consumables.

Reply:Personally I hate these threads. IMO if you figure you are going to do the job, know how to bid the job. Seems like the lazy way to go getting others to do your bidding, layout, or whatever. With that being said, I would try to get the parts to make one and multiply from there. Either that or mock up something similar. Charge your hourly rate, factor in consumables and also wear and tear on whatever equipment is to be used.
Reply:I’m not lookin fo a bid , just a time line per pole from someone who does this daily . I’m thinking by the time you cut fit and weld out around 2 hours per pole @ 125$ per hour we’re lookin at 16,000$ . Am I out of line ?
